Funding for our joint German-Japanese laboratory in Osaka has been extended until 2026.
In the “H2-Lab”, German and Japanese scientists are conducting joint research into hydrogen-producing enzymes, the hydrogenases. The expertise of the Japanese partners in the field of protein structure determination is thus combined with our knowledge of hydrogenases. Following an evaluation, the BMBF project has now been extended to the full five years, enabling us to continue our extremely successful cooperation with Osaka University and beyond. In the future, not only will young German scientists travel to Japan, but Japanese students will also work at the Ruhr University. We are looking forward to another three years of joint international hydrogen research.
