German-Japanese funding starts

01.01.2022

Kurisu zu Besuch

BMBF funding for the "H2-Lab - German-Japanese Laboratory for Structure Determination for the Development of Biofuel Cells" will start in 2022.

Building on the International Joint Lab and the longstanding cooperation with Osaka University and the team led by Prof. Genji Kurisu, the joint research activities are now being intensified on the topic of hydrogen. Semi-artificial biofuel cells equipped with environmentally friendly biocatalysts (hydrogenases) are to be coupled to flexible, enzyme-based consumer modules to generate not only electricity but also chemicals relevant to industry.
